Glaad awards 2008.

(dal nostro inviato Fabrizio Gentili) Sono uscite le nominations dei GLAAD awards. La premiazione avverrà lunedì 17 Marzo a New York. GLAAD, ovvero la Alleanza Gay & Lesbica Contro la Diffamazione, non solo monitora il mondo mediatico e mondano per promuovere una piu’ accurata ed inclusiva immagine delle persone atta ad eliminare l’omofobia e la discriminzione basata su identita’ di genere ed orientamento sessuale, ma tira fuori tutte gli agganci publicitari e conoscenze mondane e politiche per far vedere che dopotutto la comunità ha le stesse chances di essere mal rappresentata e forse anche un po’ ormai accantonata dai media come ogni altra categoria di individui. Il tono e’ sarcastico, visto la decisa presenza di personaggi gay nei media americani. Leggendo le nomine infatti non spiccano nomi di rilievo del firmamento holliwoodiano, e dii si fa ormai fatica a rimpiazzare altrettanti nomi successi.
Se da un lato mancano nomi eclatanti quali Heath Ledger(1979-2008), Charlize Theron, o la rassegna di attori ed attrici che si sono dichiarati gayfriendly, dall'altro invece si vede il consolidarsi di personaggi ed immagini dei maggiori network americani, ABC o Bravo e che in genere rappresentano in maniera adeguata, e non più come demoniaca, la comnuita LGBT.
Basti pensare al consolidato successo della prima, non so se forse unica, The L Word (Showtime), sulla comunita’ lesbica di LosAngeles, onnipresente ad ogni edizione nella categoria Serie Drammatica, assieme a Brothers and Sisters (ABC), in cui uno dei fratelli gioca appunto nelle nostre schiere.
Nella Serie Commedie, notiamo Le casalinghe disperate con l’introduzione quest’anno di una coppia gay nel vicinato, anche se per il momento hanno avuto poco piu di una baruffa e Ugly Betty, con la sempre piu’ complessa immagine del migliore amico gay (leggasi spesso fata turchina un po’ sfigata), sempre meno stereotipica(leggasi piu’ circoscritta), tra i favoriti di categoria il Sarah Silverman Show, con la coppia di vicini gay e il sarcasmo al un'apologetico (ndr forse un americanismo per intendere sfrontato e senza peli sulla lingua?) della comica che durante i VMA lo scorso anno non si lascio scappare i primi commenti di disgusto per la performance di Britney Spears.
Negli Show Reality l’ormai dichiaratamente ovvio Project Runway, in cui non solo Heidi Klum si affianca ad altri giudici con il graffiante stilista Michael Kors, ma fa da portavoce nella sfida di schiere di aspiranti stilisti, Tim Gun, gia’ direttore del programma di moda alla Parson New School di New York, ora mentore e guru style nel suo show; in questa edizione la maggior parte dei concorrenti e’ piu’ che dichiaratamente gay, visto che uno di loro si sa impegnato con un ex contendente di un altro show, Top Chef (ndr tra cucina e cucito sembrerebbero molte cose in comune). E ormai complimenti a Cgristian per una sfilata alquanto “Fierce!”( fi(ə)rs )
Insomma Bravo somiglia sempre piu’ ad un sito sociale alla myspace che ad un canale televisivo e sembra voler puntare sui “suoi gay” senza vergogna accaparrandosi una nomina anche per la nuova DList Diva Kathy Griffin, recentemente vincitrice di un Emmy per My Life on the D-List, in cui mostra tutto il suo amore per se stessa e l’intero entourage gay-lesbo necessario per la sopravvivenza nel mondo dello spettacolo, anche se solo nella D-List.
Di rilievo è l'attesa per il duello tra le due donne di colore piu’ potenti al mondo, secondo alcuni sondaggi anche piu’ potenti di Mel B e Condoleeza Rice: Oprah e Tyra, rispettivamente con tre e due nomine nella sezione Talk Show. A dimostrare appunto come LGBT sono ormai entrati nel mainstream televisivo e visibili come programmi normali e speciali allo stesso tempo(ndr scusatemi per la stucchevolezza).
Con Serate organizzate per New York, Hollywood Florida, Los Angeles e San Francisco ed ospiti che includono Judy Shepard, madre di Matthew di cui nel “Laramie Project”, Wilson Cruz, attivista e salito alla ribalta dopo il successo della soap gay tutta di colore "Noha’s Arc”, Janet Jackson e Rufus Wainwright riceveranno delle nominations per l’impegno e il coraggio dimostrato per il riconoscimento di pari dignita’ dei gay.
Una pacca sulle spalle, una tastata di culo e un’occhietto insomma gli ingredienti base per spettacoli in onore a chi non ci vuole poi cosi’ tanto male.
I piu’ grandi risultati ottenuti dagli awards sono soprattutto la grande querelle di esempi positivi e non falsettati che i giovani gay di oggi hanno a disposizione e quindi con piu’ prospettive di possibili quanto fantomatiche realta’ certamentemeno cupe di quelle offerte dai gironi danteschi a cui invece spesso erano e a volta ancora sono ispirate le immagini sui gay.
Con scrittori nuovamente a bordo, il vetriolo permeera’ i palchi e le sale tutte dei Glaad Awards parties per i prossimi due mesi. State sintonizzati!
